I am finding that most of the major cities in the western U.S. have reduced UHI heating (and like LA, even cooling) during daytime and nighttime on excessively hot days. In many cases I believe this is due to watering of vegetation, which for every city I have checked, Grok says that city has more water usage during the nighttime hours on excessively hot days.
