Rep. Tony Gonzales is heading to a Republican primary runoff in Texas for the second straight election, NBC News projects, with a one-on-one race against GOP challenger Brandon Herrera on tap.

The campaign was shaped by allegations Gonzales had an affair with a staffer in his congressional office who died by suicide in 2025.
