Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Pentagon is taking steps to reduce Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly's military retirement rank over remarks he and other lawmakers made in a video weeks ago urging members of the military and intelligence community to refuse to comply with illegal orders.

Hegseth said Kelly, a retired Navy captain, also would be censured for joining the other lawmakers in releasing the “reckless and seditious video that was clearly intended to undermine good order and military discipline."
