Two children are dead and 17 people injured in a shooting at a back-to-school Mass at the Annunciation Catholic School, according to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

The chief said the gunman fired a rifle from outside the building through the church windows “towards the children sitting in the pews.”

Police said the gunman was in his early 20s and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
