Motown legend Smokey Robinson is under criminal investigation, a law enforcement official said, a week after he was accused of sexually assaulting four former housekeepers for years.

An attorney for Robinson had denied the allegations, calling them "vile" and accusing the plaintiffs' lawyers of creating a "media circus."
