A federal judge ordered the release of Badar Khan Suri, a postdoctoral scholar at Georgetown University arrested in March and targeted for deportation by the Trump administration.

Judge Patricia Giles said Khan Suri's ICE detention was in violation of his First Amendment right to free speech and his Fifth Amendment right to due process.
